Embracing This Presence Improves Mental and Physical Health

On Colorado's Aspen Mountain

On Colorado’s Aspen Mountain

Embrace this presence. It will amaze you. It will relax you. This presence soothes the soul. It is an underappreciated presence among the 7 billion people in this world. I would argue that less than 1% of the world’s population embraces it with some regularity.

What is this presence that can improve my mental or physical health? How can this presence help me reach the finish line?

This presence is among you every day. It is called nature. Some people live closer to participate in the observance of it than others. New York City is the biggest city in the United States, but it still has many parks to allow people to embrace this presence.

Nature will vary depending on your location. I am currently in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado. There are several scenic areas, including Mount Sopris, Aspen Mountain, Red Hill, and the Rio Grande Trail.

In my new book, I curated some research to reinforce the importance of nature in helping you reach the finish line. You can read it all when you preorder the book.

Although, I will leave you with a few to hope that it inspires you to embrace nature.

Mental Health:

A Stanford University study finds that walking in nature yields measurable mental benefits and may reduce risk of depression.

National Geographic learned from David Strayer (University of Utah’s cognitive psychologist) that people performed 50% better on creative problem solving tasks after 3 days of wilderness backpacking.

Physical Health:

VICE discovered that those living in the greenest areas had a 12% lower mortality rate than those living in the areas with very little to nature.

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation discovered that a walk in a forest provides several health benefits, including lower blood pressure and a boost in immunity.

The Final Word

Nature inspires humanity to realize their potential. Are you ready to be inspired?
