This week, I spoke to a select group of students at Kutztown University.
Eight years ago, I was the student. It was quite a surreal experience to be again on the other side of the classroom. Words cannot really express the feeling of giving inspiration and advice to a group of Generation Z college students.
I am always honored to be welcomed by universities to talk to their students. These invitations are a result of many years of hard work. The small wins. The big challenges. Yet, I persevered. Hard work pays off in many ways.
This time, I was asked to talk about leadership.
My theme is Reaching The Finish Line. So, I have to lead the way to help you get there. I hope you will pay it forward by becoming the leader to help more people in your life.
I plan to leave a legacy for the future generations. I do not know if it will be as significant as Wayne Dyer or Michael Jackson. Although, I do not worry about the distant future. I simply focus on the next step, which is often no more than a few months ahead.
If you have been following me for a while, you know that I am not against college. As an entrepreneur, it is hard to highly recommend something that had no influence on my success. College is a system that creates academically qualified employees.
Now, if you want to be an employee for most of your life, then college could be a good investment for you.
More universities are offering entrepreneurship programs to cater to aspiring entrepreneurs. Although, I have not seen any programs that I could recommend to others.
You could learn about as much about entrepreneurship by borrowing books from your local public library. Alternatively, you could buy about a dozen of business books on Amazon.
As stated before, college is an investment and a BIG one. Many people expect to get a return on that investment. Prestige is a factor that is often used to have assurance of a guarantee return of investment.
A student sent me a question about it. So, I thought I would share the answer with you too.
I want to hear your opinion! Does a prestigious university have a significant influence on the financial potential of your career?
